is it supposedto blow air in to the fire?? If so it will only be blowing exhaust gas??

i don't think it will blow exhaust gas, but more suck air/smoke from the fire?
what's it supposed to be doing? i can't really tell whats going on

yes - as far as I can tell, it is steam powered motorbix from the 1920s and the tube goes to presumable afirebox sitting on the fire that is soruce of
steam !
