FIA/UEM European Final, Santa Pod.

Did anyone else go?
It's the first time I've ever seen live drag racing and I'd advise anyone else to go, even just once, for the spectacle and the sound! I have never in my life seen anythign move that fast from a standing start.
The only slight downer was that because of the rain they were only running the professional classes so we didn't get to see the Sportsman (amateur) cars run, which would have been fun. Definitely going again next year!
Glad I wasn't camping though, the camp site looked like the Somme Estuary circa 1916

I was picking people up from there on Saturday night and taking them to hotels. Most of them looked like something crossed between an all out mud wrestler of 60 years experience and a drowned rat.

Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Was planning to go but decided it would not be worth it because of the rain. It's no fun watching the jet engine plough up and down for 20 mins between showers and it's a 2 1/2 hour drive each way for us.

SP seems to have been hit hard this year as the May Nationals were washed out and Thurs/Friday/Sat must have been too wet too.

Really sad as given decent weather it's a great day out. The year is not the same without a trip to Poddingon.

I used to be apathetic but now I just don't care.
