Thats very similar to the VW being rebuilt by the Beetle Crisis crew, theirs is 70's but no mention of silly money, maybe he's priced it
in Zim Dollars.....

way to much for a sand rail, regardless of what it was originally used for. too heavy for proper offroading, you could buy several better ones for
that

Sounds a lot, but they are quite rare, don't know what military collectors are paying right now for them.
It's Not an air-cooled beetle based buggy BTW - it's a VW polo engine IIRC, though flat4 water cooled 1.9 doesn't sound right for
any polo I've come across...

Lighter than a Landrover, so I'm not sure what you mean about too heavy for offroading. They were designed purely for military special
operations, thus the weapons mount.
It's not a sand rail of any kind.

^^^ I think they were made to be light with fat tyres to skip over sand.

Maybe just a terminology thing. but to me a sand rail is air-cooled VW based, with tiny front tyres, balloon rears designed to jump in the air in
sunny California deserts/beaches.
The LSV was designed to be fast over a large number of terrains delivering a couple of SAS types deep behind enemy lines to call in air strikes and
take out a couple of tanks before sprinting to safety.
Much like the old pink panther landrovers.

hmm
that aint a polo engine, I have two bug based cars and I can clearly see the rocker cover of a flat 4, being water cooled it will be a late model
camper engine.
it's too heavy as it only a 2wd, at best it will be fun on hardish ground, front tyres are the wrong type for sand use, should have radial
groved tyres for that. Will still be quite nippy though

Those aren't the tyres fitted by the army.
Something more like this:
From http://www.adrianstomcat.co.uk/LSV.htm
Didn't know there were any watercooled flat 4's. Learn something new every day.

Well it wouldn't pass SVA with those front wheel arches!
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

As lng as it was securely fitted and had no sharp edges, what could be the problem?
