Uncle Ron?
There's not a day goes by on here without reference to Ron Champion. Not surprising really.
All I wanted to ask was whatever became of him? I know he was a teacher when he wrote the book but there never seems to be a mention of him in the
present. Is he still around. What has happened to him?

I believe he went bankrupt and moved abroad (Spain IIRC....).

Nice work if you can get it!
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

How did he go bankrupt if he was a teacher then?
Or was that just an excuse to run off with the filipino virgin?

He set up a locost car company. Got MK to make the chassis at first.
Something happened and Leugo's fore runner made the chassis.
Eventually he went bankrupt. Last he was heard of was in Spain.
No one has heard anything for a good 4+ years. I too wonder how he is (occasionally i wonder if i can sue him for the last 10 years of my life back).

My feelings on the man have been posted on here many times before so I'm not going to go there again BUT I was on holiday in Marakesh a couple
of weeks ago and there was an English guy at the same hotel who I got talking to who was the absolute spitting image of Mr Champion - it wasn't
him but I had to drop a couple of Locost related comments into the conversation to see his reaction before I was absolutely sure! (and I have
actually met robbin' Ron a few times so I wasn't just going by the pictures in the books btw )

I knew Ron before the Locost, he worked in a youth training workshop in Kettering with my father.
I last saw him at the Stamford classic car show in August last year think he helped organise it and think hes back in this country now.
