PS2 Gran Turismo with force feedback wheel
Just bought Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec for Playstation 2 with a Logitech USB Force Feedback Wheel.
All I can say is WOW this is FUUUUN!!! The sheer depth of this program is incredible. The tracks and cars are rendered so photorealistically that in
some shots you feel that you are looking through a video camera.
Anyone else play this game? I am quickly becoming an addict. Late nights will never be the same.

Yep, I was for a long time a complete GT3 nut. I too have the wheel, it's brill.
I've completed about 75% but it gets pretty hard at that point. I might start again from scratch, having 10m credits kinda takes out the fun
really.

I little bro had a wheel, but it just vibrated, does the logitech one actually fight back.

Get an XBox and Project Gotham Racing 2.
It is even better and you can use a (spit) Cateringvan (spit)!
Unfortunately it takes up more of my time than my project does (hangs head in shame).

The difference is incredible. I had a wheel that only did the vibrating thing and it was simply stupid. With the force feedback wheel the entire
simulation comes alive. You feel when the tires are about to break loose, torque steer (FWD), rumble strips, little bumps... If only there was a way
to (inexpensively) simulate the g-forces to the body ... put a little open can of racing fuel next to the seat... you would never have to leave the
house!  (Just kidding 'bout that, it's still nothing like real driving, but it is now closer to it.)
Terry, I believe there is a 7 clone available somewhere in GT3 A-Spec...

Just wait for GT4! The wheel for that will have full 2.5 turns lock-to-lock and it'll have well over 500 cars (including classic muscle and
sports cars, MGs, Caterhams, racing cars etc) and over 100 tracks. Oh an online play too!
Due out this spring I think!

I too am a big GT3+wheel fan - mackie and I link our PS2s with an i-link cable, he's more of a nut on it than me but I can still have him

Oh by the way if anyone reading this is thinking of getting a wheel for GT3, try and get the old style logitech gran turismo force feedback wheel
secondhand, not the newer one like I've got. My version has the D-pad controls on the front of the wheel but it has analogue shift paddles which
are a right pain in the arse, you have to heft them right in and out again to change gear. Mackie's is the old style without the d-pad on the
front, that one has clicky on-off shift paddles which are much nicer.
I've resorted to using a couple of buttons on the front of my wheel to shift instead of the crappy paddles

If you like GT3 you have to try Live for Speed on the PC. ( www.liveforspeed.com )
Its the best racing simulator I have ever seen. You can adjust anything on your car, Tire PSI, spring rate, sway bar strength, and about a million
other things.
I love GT3 though. I spent many a long nights on that one (still not done!)
Best thing to do for a build....

You can use the logitech whel on the PC as well, best PS2 racing game has to be Total Imersion Racing,not as pretty as GT but a lot more realistic...
