Where has Dave Andrews' website gone? now FOUND!

Tonight I tried to open Dave Andrews' very useful website

http://hometown.aol.com/DVAndrews/index.htm

All I got was a message saying that "AOL Hometown" has been closed down.

Does anyone know if he has moved his site somewhere else?

cheers,
David

Hmmm... that doesn't look like the old site, which used to be packed with very useful tips (e.g. converting a type-9 gearstick to a quickshift). I'd guess that he ran 2 sites: hobby and business.

If it's gone then I'll have to add stuff to my website... and his description was a good 'un...

I've just sent him an e-mail using that link, to ask whether he's moved the site (or if it's dead) - but as it's AOL it may not reach him...

email him at DVA Power.

Met him once a number of years ago. Really nice bloke, very friendly and loads of time for us locosters (he respected the building of the car from scratch).

I was looking at the page for the quickshift the other day and it said that AOL hometown was closing down on 31st October and that you should download the content to save on your computer.

I downloaded a word document on how to do the quickshift modification.

I don't have anywhere to host it but if anyone wants it, send me a u2u with your e-mail address and I'll forward it to you.

I got a swift email back from Dave Andrews... apparently AOL just shut down Homepages with little warning.

Anyway, his stuff can now be found at

http://dvandrews.co.uk/

I'm glad it hasn't gone away, as there's some very good stuff for builders like us...
