I was under the impression Lotus did this in the 1950's
but could be wrong

Its quite an old one this (2007), but still it would have been quite amusing seeing the huge queues to SVA centers and DVLA.

It's been done.....

You could buy a Minor 1000 in kit form in the fifties as a way of avoiding purchase tax.

We have a Kia Shortage (see what I did there) which we bought cheap as a stop gap when the van went and it's still here. We like it and it does everything it needs to quite well thank you. The engine is a 2.0 16 valve Mazda unit so no problems with that.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Did you note their spokesman's comment, "Our design teams in Germany and California have been led by our satellite office in Sweden."?

Maybe there is a connection?

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!
