O/T - recommendations for hostels in Newquay?
Way off topic... my daughter and a few friends (5) are in their first year of A levels and want to go away for a week in the summer holidays without
parents. They will be 17 and I think I am OK with her going, but I just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for good (=safe, clean,
reasonably close to the beach, fairly cheap) hostels in Newquay? I can find a few on the interweb, but it's always good to get some personal
recommendations.
TIA
Simon

there is a caravan site called smugglers which i have been to before. its not the ritz by any means but its safe and some of the vans will sleep 5. it
has a shop and things for food and drinks and there is a bus service which i think is free into newquay (5 mins) every 20 mins. there is lots of young
people on the site and atmosphere is friendly. If the went there at least they would all be together!

Daughter did the Newquay thing after her A's a few years ago and has visited it on Uni trips more recently. Seems to think it was all a
"laugh" especially if you go with a bunch of mates. Originally stayed nearby at a mobile home site called Sunnyside which was basic but
adequate. Reg bus service into town. Last stayed at http://www.reefsurflodge.info/find.htm which she reckons was pretty good. As for being OK with her
going it's rites of passage and all that as well as the guilt of being a parent!
Cheers, Pewe
