OT Astroturf Garden???
Ok heres a strange one for you, I have a couple of footie mad kids and a smallish garden 90% of which is patio on 2 levels, We want the kids to be
able to play in the garden (alternative is the road!) so we want to make it appealling to them and suitable. My wife and to be fair me as well
don't want a crappy lawn/mudbath as all the crap will be brought into the house etc. My thoughts then turned to Astroturf, they play on it all
the time in organised football but is it possible to do a small area such as a garden, can anyone point me in the right direction/speak from
experience even?? Our garden is functional rather than a pleasure to maintain so this would be another advantage I suppose

I saw a van in Peterborough a few weeks ago, and the name on the back was something like 'fake lawns' and they were a company supplying
exactly that. but I can't remember what the actual name was. sorry

We have installed astro turf on rubber soft top.
you can get it off
ebay
Its easy to install. You will need a longer pile to fill with dried sand or fine Tyre crumb. This holds it in place and protects the base from hard
traffic.
kiln dried sand is expensive, so a locost method is just to spread building sand on your drive in the summer and brush it around to dry it. .5T only
covers about 15m2
There are a few other cheats to save on installation costs, but we like to maintain the smoke and mirrors just to baffle the customers.
If you DIY just let me know I have 60m2 of sports turf in Edinburgh if thats any help.
Cheers
