tintop bodywork repair

hi all following on from this post

i got my car back yesterday they have given the car a full valet and removed the dent but have said they have tried all there compounds to get the scratch out but cant get rid of it.
my girlfriend picked the car up and they told her to "see what we think" and let them know well when i saw it today in the light there is still a clear scratch there.
honda have told me a number of times now that they dont like spraying new cars like this but wont say why so what do i do now.
i have been to a local bodyshop who have a very good reputation and have used before and he said he will do it but where do i stand with it now and what other options do i have

They might not like spraying new cars but what other option are they suggesting to correct their amateurish handiwork!!
I'd say that if they haven't the facilities to spray the repair you've found someone who will and you want written confirmation from Honda that they'll pay for the bodyshop sprayjob.
Perhaps they'll be in a better mood now their F1 team is back on track!!!

Go back to Honda and say you don't care what they like to do, just do it and quick.

my other question now is do i really want them to have my car again i dont really trust them now and will they do a good job i know this other garage is vey good i also have a problem that everytime we take the car in the curtesy cars they give us cost about £60-£70 more aweek to run than ours (about 30 miles comute for misses) so why should we have to fork out for that for there balls up ive suggested next time that we want a full tank of fuel in the courtesy car but they dont want to do that

accept nothing but a complete repair! I believe that polishing a scratch out removes alot of the protection of the paint. Hope you get sorted





my aim is to build my own locost wether it takes me a week or 10 years to get started, i'm sure i will sometime

On the grounds that they've tried to repair it I assume they've accepted liability. You therefore want them to fix it.

There is only one garage i trust with my car, been going back for years. When one car was uneconomical repair, i gave it to them. They fixed it on quiet days and sold it for a nice profit. Didn't bother me (but did freak me out once when i found it in a pub car park).

Having to go to a different garage now due to needing this / that and the other programming when things are changed (EGR valve for example). Not happy but not a lot of choice.

I'd be speaking to Trading Standards on Monday for their advice now Adam. As said, they have clearly accepted liabilty now and its amazing what you can acheive once you have some proper clout behind you in the form of Trading Standards.

I have had a blazing row with a manager at Carcraft on behalf of a friend, and got nowhere beyond threatening them with legal action. Trading Standards got involved after i rang them and within two weeks we had Carcraft almost begging us to settle for considerably more than i expected (they sold my friend a car, took hers in part ex, decided they couldnt offer her finance after all a week later and took the car back............but had sold hers for pittance at auction!!).
