Ebay - COLLECTION ONLY...!

Is it just me or do Ebay buyers intentionally try to wind you up

It seems that everytime I put "COLLECTION ONLY - WILL NOT POST/DELIVER" on an item for sale it guarantees that at least one idiot will ask whether I can post the item......!

Just sold an item today (a pair of speaker stands) with "COLLECTION ONLY - WILL NOT POST/DELIVER" on the auction. Lo and behold the buyer pays instantly via PayPal then emails to ask "sorry to be cheeky but I don't have a car, is there any chance you could deliver them?"

"You know what, NO there is NO FECKIN' CHANCE WHATSOEVER"

You have their money! Result. Normally they don't pay until after you've said no you won't deliver.

tell them you'll deliver it at £2.50 a mile....

or, that you'll send it locost post - someone from here picks it up and takes it in roughly the right direction when they're going that way, drops it off at the next locoster, and so on... And it'll cost him £5 per locoster involved....

Almost as annoying as when people put delivery as "free" and then when you go into the listing it says "collection only" in the small print.

Collection means there isn't any delivery so how can it be free? The meaning of free cannot be attached to something that does not exist!

As long as you used the no postage collect in person option on the postage field I don't see how he has a case.

and yes eBay is loaded with numpties, idiots and down right fraudsters now, as well as those who obviously cant read.

We ought to start a thread for the most stupid ebay experience.

Well not with standing the OPs comments.
- I always ask, if theres something i want thats collect only, if he would consider posting it.

If the answer is no, its a no.

But ive got a lot of good items this way, everyone has a price for everything.

I always ask, most people selling wheels or tyres put collection only cos they check parcel force and its like 40 quid, interparcel, tenner!

Always worth asking, but I always offer to arrange the courier.

Only before bidding tho!!
