Hazard lights for MOT ????
OK, our 33year old mini has decided to give us Hazards but only the passenger side !!
Was hopeing to MOT it in the next few days but wanted to know - if i remove the hazard light switch, will this be ok for MOT ? a friend who works in a
garage said if the switch is not fitted then they cant fail it ? but not sure i believe him...
Regards Andy

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I don't think you need them, my buggys 34 years old, had hazards when it was a beetle but didn't need them when I converted it to a buggy,
the falcons a X reg and it doesn't have them either

MOT manual:
quote:
Vehicles first used before 1 April 1986:
A hazard warning device is not required by Regulation, but, if one is fitted, it must be tested. The hazard warning lamp 'tell tale' may
be a separate light or the same as the indicator 'tell-tale. However, it must be a flashing light.

Yup. you don't need them. Quite a few classics have them retro-fitted for the sake of safety but it's not a requirement.

If you remove the switch the indicators will not work either!
