F1 cars have power steering?

yep. have done for many many years.

i remember about 10 years ago one having a lot of trouble the race because he lost power steering

Yup, have done for ages, you try turning a 270 section tyre with a 1.5 turn lock-to-lock steering rack

Yeah they do. Stupid i know. They run a clip of oll the trainging they go though, and they cant even drive a car without power steering

think about it...
probably about 1 turn lock to lock, i think there slightly heavier than the average 7 and also think about all the downforce they have making the front even heavier...

and then bend after bend for 2 hours... would you want to do it without powersteering?

The last company I worked for made power steering, electric power steering in our case. We sold them to Fiat amongst others and they would only agree to taking EPAS if we developed a system for their F1 team. We didn't want to. They only decided against because of the power drain. F1 cars don't have a big electrical system but do have plenty of hydraulics. We got away with that one then.

They did it in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, and part of the 90's





How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?
