radiator question
i have been looking at this radiator on ebay, it will fit in my nose cone and the core is 2893cm^3 more than my current rad. and its relatively
cheap!
as you can see from the picture the outlet is not at the bottom of the rad, what effect would this have on cooling, would it make the rows below the
outlet redundant? or would the rad be designed so the water passed threw the whole rad before exiting?

on a forced/pumped system it doesnt make a massive difference. you may find that when idling only the top 3/4 are hot, but as soon as water pump
speeds up it will force water through all channels.

It is on the bottom if you rotate the radiator through ninety degrees

I really do wish you would post in the right section sometimes.
It doesnt matter where the inlet and outlets are really. As Dinosaurjuice says on a pumped system it don't matter.

Alex,
Is that a comparison of W*H*D overall or capacity?
2900 cm^3 is 2.9 litres (over 1/2 gallon) !

sorry john that is volume of the core and was supposed to read 2893 cm^3, yes its a big rad
my current core is 300x330x40, new core is 445x440x35
can't fit a polo rad as its too wide, i borrowed one off clairetoo,
so im thinking of cutting of the nudge bar at the front of the car and fitting this massive rad.
dave what is wrong with where the post is, we don't have a section for radiators.

i used a mk2 escort rad, as i could not get a polo rad to fit.
that looks like a nice rad, is it alu?

i guess i better connect it all up, but i really am debating getting the angle grinding out tomorrow and cutting the front nudge bar off. a few of the
other DAX guys have done it giving them bags of space up front, massive rads and oil coolers fitted
anyone want to buy my current rad? perfect for BEC application, will include a brand new rad switch too & a spare.

the area alone, whcih IMO is better than depth - gives 1.9 times so should see you cool.
what is this nudge bar you refer to?
where will this new rad be fitted?
and will there be enough room.
I have mk2 escort rad FOC if you want it ... but it has plastic header hence would not bne possbile to sodler off the filler - you'd need a
solid radiator cap.
