Fuel prices in europe
Im taking my brother and sister to europe in august and need to work out how much money to take.
Does anyone know what sort of prices petrol is in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy (just need a ball park figure)?
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Diesel it a fair bit cheaper than petrol in France but can't remember the difference from ~10 days ago when I was there (didn't buy
any).
I'm sure that guy will be back to give you an accurate figure.
There are websites that give you average prices for petrol, diesel and LPG in Europe if you do a search...

I was watching the TT races on telly last night and spotted a petrol station over there which was £1.07 unleaded and £1.11 diesel. Captive audience
with 60,000 bikers there at the moment though I suspect not many would need diesel!

In spite of all the fuel/tax protests, fuel is very similar price in the rest of Europe to the price here although diesel is often cheaper than
petrol.
The best way to pay for it is probably with a credit card. Debit cards (generally) charge for overseas transactions whereas credit cards commonly
don't.

Just bear in mind French automatic pumps (where you pay with plastic) wont accept British credit cards.
Also it is pretty impossible to get fuel after 6 in the evening or before 8 in the morning when you arent on the autoroute, so if your going cross
country between these times make sure you have a full tank.
Cheers,
Bob
