Desktop laser engraving ?

Anyone know anything about this, thinking of purchasing one (I know nothing) to personalise some of the products we sell.

Easy to use, set up ?

I bought a custom made industrial one a couple of years ago, 12W diode pumped one. Doddle to use, just draw what you want in a simple CAD type editor and off you go. You just have to fiddle with parameters a bit for different materials.

A3 size is about £13k - see www.techsoft.co.uk
they supply lots of schools and conveniently make their "2D design" CAD programme which is also widely used. Also have a look at Technology supplies website, some firms will lease machines which eases the pain a bit
