Olympus make them, probably easiest to buy from Maplin.
However you would probably be cheaper buying phone, it dosen't have to be a smart phone most "feature phones" also do it, but a smart phone makes it easy to tranfer to a computer.

I believe, that if you are recording your calls, you legally have to inform your caller / other party that recording of the call is taking place.
I used to programme up automatic call systems for a living, and this was a mandatory requirement where the calls are being recorded.

I believe it is covered by the laws covering phone tapping, where if both parties on the call are aware of it being recorded, ie consent is given by both parties, then its acceptable.

If you are going to use the information gathered, I strongly urge you to familiarise yourself with the law. As the penalties are pretty harsh.
Especially since the Phone haclking scandal has hit the news.

As for that Phone Hacking scandal... the people MOST to blame are the USERS who DIDNT change their default remote access pin to something other than the default. None of this would have happend, if they had changed their PIN's.
I mean if you bank card came out with a default Pin of 0000 you would change it imeadiately. So why not your mobile or house phones.
How many of you still have a default remote access to your voicemail box on your home, or mobile phone? If you have not changed it, then you are liable to be hacked. Its SO simple to be hacked, and SO simple to change the PIN. Just thats very few people actually do it.

"Its not going to happen to me" is the mentality... BUt to some poor people it does happen, even an innocent schoold kid that went missing. You never know what life will throw at you.

41 years in the Comms insdustry has taught me lots of useful (/less) things!

Argos, £22, Olympus.
We had an Olympus one at work, not the same model, but worked as it should.

You can record without notifying the other party providing that the recording is for your own use.
