6 points or a 56 day ban????
6 points or a 56 day ban depending on the Magistrates' on the day.
That's what you get for doing 59 on a dual carriageway on a Sunday morning when there is no traffic and the speed limit is 30mph!
Goes with the car I guess!

There are ways out of this and ways to reduce it to 3 points, but working at a Magistrates' Court myself, I have no choice but to own up and
write a bloody grovelling letter and beg for the 6 points.....
Don't fancy the insurance next year if I get the ban!!!!!

It's really irritating when the law is applied in such a rigid non sensical way!
While you where being dealt with there where berks all over the country doing 90 mph down the motorway 3 feet from the guy in fronts bumper.
They're a bit more difficult to catch though!

Speed limits the same all week, ignorance is no alibi in the eyes of the law. There's one like that in Chesterfield. It doesn't go with
the car, Escort vans get done as well, ask my carpet fitter.

Can't you try for 'Driver Education'. Spend a day at a course learning 'safety'.
Costs about £150 but no points.
I'm sure you're aware anyway.

I got nailed twice on my DT125 when I had passed my bike test aged 21, both within about a month of each other. Once for doing 45 in a 30 mph limit
and once (worse) for doing 57 in a 30mph limit. the 45 resulted in 3 points and 45 quid, the 57 resulted in 6 points and 60 quid. The fines
weren't really an issue as I was earning a good wage by then but the points hurt like hell for the 3 years I had them and the five years
afterwards that insurance companies ask you whether you 'have had any claims or convictions in the last five years'. I swore when it
happened but I now stick to the speed limit in built up areas. I am no angel, I speed on 60mph limit roads and on motorways but the copper who pulled
me for doing 57 in a 30 gave me the "What if a little kid or an old lady walked out" speech and it stuck in me brain. Just remember that
we all make mistakes, try to learn from it mate. Book yerself on a track day, then you can speed all you want

i don't agree with speed limits, i ignore them practically all the time, same for traffic lights sometimes. if you can see there's no
traffic, the road is clear or its late night/early morning what's the harm in going a bit quicker. in my opinion when driving very quickly, as
long as the only person in danger is yourself (note, not passengers) then if the road is empty drive at whatever speed you like. i haven't been
caught, but have had a few clsoe shaves, catching up police cars @speed seems to be the recent thing for brown trousers. anyway, i know it's
against hte law, but like i said they haven't caought me, i haven't hurt anyone and enjoy the drive, i also know the roads very well that
i do drive fast on. another thing, some 30mph speed limits start so far away from any built up areas or houses it is ridiculous, I've hit 100mph
in a 30mph in a diesel before now and slowed down to under 40 before reaching any house, corner or anything.
sorry, got myself started there...
Ned.
beware, I've got yellow skin

I'll remember that
If I'm ever in Guildford early morning,(highly unlikely) always stop at the green light in case Ned's coming the other way. When you get
caught don't expect sympathy after that admission Ned, 100 in a 30 is going to be a field day for police, you'll probably make the papers.
yours, Pete

I think thats the most stupid post of all time - or was it a joke......
------------------
i don't agree with speed limits, i ignore them practically all the time, same for traffic lights sometimes.
---------------------
I could quote nearly every line - its got moron written all over it!
(you have made it up, surely)

We all have to hold up our hands sometimes to speeding - like I did to the cop that caught me doing 48 into the start of a 30 4 years ago.
There is also some small argument about 'driving as conditions allow'.
But who is to define that? a driver with an inflated ego may feel they are safe doing 70 in the high street on a saturday night, until someone steps
out.
Those with your attitude would be the first to want killers with cars banned - but then you advocate a 'make it up as i go along as long as i
feel its safe' argument.
Im against speed cams, in most situations anyway, but reading what you just said I think we need a whole lot more.
Ned
I really cant believe how you could put that S H I T in print!
You need locking up

i've so far been very lucky when it comes to leicestershire constabulary, been pulled 3 times for doing stupid things and only had a warning and
a producer for each of em! only 1 of em was really a matter of safety though, 1am on a monday morning coming home after a argument with the girlfriend
and dropping her off at home, nice wide fast roundabout just a couple of streets away from here and i decided i wasn't slowing down as it was
empty road so hitting it at about 55 (in a 40 ) came off it pretty sideways only to notice officer dibble coming the other way. opps!
the other 2 were pretty pathetic really, had a producer for my exhaust being too loud!!!! it was a totally road legal system which the jobsworth
decided can't have been legal as 'the pipe lools larger than average and exhausts shouldn't be that shiny under a car' !! he
could prove nothing funnily enough.
then there was the matter of the music slightly too loud in a residetial area at 6am on my way to work. bit touch and go that one really cos if they
had soundmeters then i guess they could have charged me with something but they didn't so couldn't
was glad to sell that car in the end it just attracted em!!
sad thing is i'm starting all over again now
just thought i'd share that with you all as i'm bored
