My wife is a dispensing optician, she may be able to answer your question? If you divulge it of course.....

Whilst not an optician by any means my wife is an optical glazer....she carves the prescription and fits the lenses to the frames

My friend is a professor in ophthalmology, or whatever it's called... And his wife owns a chain of opticians.
