Sgian Dubh
Hey guys,
I am a bit of a knife collector and its time I get a nice sgian dubh. I like my blades to have some history to them and there really is no
Canadian versions that do. Some of the Cdn highlanders were allowed to carry a sgian while in uniform, but were not equipped with them by the army.
Anyhow, are there any sources for a nice sgian over there? Im willing to pay well for one if it has some history.
Cheers.

As a visit to an arms fair over here may be out of the question, your best bet is probably; www.ebay. co uk.
I am seeing a mate on Thursday that used to be a dealer ( sharp shiny things and thunder sticks ), so I will ask him. i will let you know if he has
anything positive to say.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

This bloke makes some of the best swords and knives I have ever seen, and he's prices are reasnoble to boot.
Mate of mine has one of his viking jobbies, balance and quality is superb.

Thanks guys,
Customs on my end shouldn't be an issue. Fixed blade under 6" blade length is OK unless its a push-dagger or something. Only thing is
most older military sgians will have been saw-toothed which may be grumbled about by the law. Will have to look into it.
Didn't you guys pass some new knife laws there? Anything restricting buying small blades?
Ive been watching ebay.co.uk a bit. There was a gorgeous WW1 Gordon Highlanders officers sgian on there a while back. Very nice, great condition but
a little too spendy for me, and a silver blade is not my thing. Id still love it for my collection though.
Pezza, Ive looked at that guys page before. Looks like top quality stuff but I like more traditional sgians. His style is very nice and Ive
considered buying from him anyway. The fact that he is from Isle of Skye helps too (bet you can guess what my last name is ).
That last guy sure tells a good story, but hes trying pretty hard to justify that price . I don't like the way dendritic steel takes an edge
anyway. I like a smooth edge.
Cheers.
