Crafty sods.............

Just had a problem with the 12v circuit on a caravan, basically no output from transformer, it had one external fuse which tested ok, the rest of the unit is sealed and closed with rivets.......

Well nothing too lose, drill rivets out and what do i find ?
a 15amp fuse lurking inside, change it, all working fine........

How much would they have charged too "repair" the unit ????

Crafty sods............

Glad you found it Jon... I was viewing one of the two you had for sale the other day in your yard

Crafty?... we can do that Sir! How much would you like to part with?

Burning question is... what made it blow?

Battery connected wrong way around was the cause, but what a pants way of protecting it, internal fuse with no way of getting at it.
There's only one left for sale now, petty you didn't go around the back, bit of a stock on...........

Had same with my mum's microwave. 13A fuse in plug, 10A fuse inside the unit. Obvious which one is going to blow first and most people would just chuck the thing in the bin when it stopped working! Surely the only reason they do it is to meke people throw away perfectly good appliances into landfill and have to buy new ones
