Selling Cars

Where is the best place to sell a car privately?

I am trying to sell in Autotrader (website, and next 2 issues of mag), but have had no luck so far.

Any suggestions?

It a Mazda Eunos 1.6 auto

local diamon/free ads papers often work and are free. Also try any local newspapers in your area. There must be an MX5 owners club website where you can probably register for free and place an add.

If all else fails you could see if "donut" is interested - I've heard he's into that sort of thing

Mine's on Pistonheads:

It's free if you aren't a trader.

I also sold a car on Ebay; though I thought the fees were a bit steep all things considered.
If you do go Ebay make sure you proviso you are advertising it elsewhere yada yada, and only accept bids from those with feedback.

Goodluck.

Pistonheads is ok, but beware of dodgy emails from africa trying to get extra info!

Ebay got the best results when selling my Smart Roadster

Autotrader generated 2 phone calls - both from people trying to sell me other services to advertise my car locally in Edinburgh (good, since I live in York!)

You'll not get a decent price at this time of year though - beginning of summer is the time to sell convertibles.

www.findit .co.uk has lots of hits and turns up the occasional gem but is a bit clumsy in the initial response to queries, free with no pic and you can put carin as manydifferent categories as you can concoct!!

no matter how hard I try the dog and my husband will not both fit in! Will be very sad to see the car go

Get rid of the husband Sorry mate, but the dog is essential and you are dispensible.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
