Audio/TV sound help needed
Hi all, long shot i know, but does anyone here know about HDMI conections ?? I've just got an LG Plasma and a Philips DVD Home theatre system
and am having a bit of trouble setting it up, I've got the dvd system to play and have set up the radio bit, all with the help of the on-screen
set up display, But no matter what connections I try to use, I can't get the TV to come out of the audio system. Both are HDMI compatible and
are fully conected and everything else works, except the sound from the bleedin TV
I've tried the net and re-read the manual several times, all conections are ok.

on my sony hd, again turn off the speakers via the menu button, but the volume control still controls the external speaker feed. so you need to turn
up the volume on the tv.

How about seperate phono audio out?
On my Lg plasma the sound output is 'live' all the time.
If it doesn't fit MODIFY it!!

Cheers guys, I'll give the 'turn sound off' a try, I have tried separate 'red and white' plug from audio out on tv to
'in' on theater idea, but it didn't help
Many thanks for the ideas though

The best way to connect is via scart as HDMI will not carry sound.
If your using the audio L & R cables you make sure that they are connected to the "out" on the TV and a "in" of the S/R
sound and you must select appropriate source button on your philips surround sound that you have connect the red and white into to tell it to amplify
your TV.

Bugger, I thought HDMi was the best, oh well, I have a scart lead but not really long enough, I'll get a longer one after Christmas, while on
the subject though, if the hdmi can send the sound from the theatre, why can't it send it back from the tv? is it mainly just for DVd's
then ??
Thanks
