that could end up as a sticky situation (no pun intended) with 3 people squeezing into a two seater!

He's a braver man than me, that's for sure! Building a car with TWO birds?! Madness surely!

its mad enough building your own car, but building it with a woman helping you is too mad, let alone two of them

I believe the gent was the father of one and the build was instigated by perci (female/woman)(daughter).
Lets not prejudge how or who instigates builds and is or isn't capable.
It was a good quaility build that went through SVA first time if I'm not mistaken.

Yep there is....me!
I don't know of any other 'actual' women builders, there have been a few posts by some , but have come to the conclusion they were
'made-up' names ......
I know that other builders (male) significant 'others' do post on here from time to time though
I have started to think of building another...but not a '7' ......
and.......... only if I DON'T have to get rid of the Fozzmobile

When at college doing my welding course I met a couple of women who were on various automotive/mechanic type courses. Were working on all sorts of
interesting projects of their own.
Good on 'em I say.
I'm glad that Fozzie and co. have 'come out'. We had some stupid and unpleasant comments being made on here before then- comments
that would only discourage other women from joining in this hobby.
I noticed almost straight away that the comments reduced dramatically after then so good for them.
The really cool thing about it is that Fozzie's car is by far and above the nicest Locost/kit that in 5 years since I started this hobby
I've ever seen.
The attention to detail and care taken with the build is truly amazing! Proof, if it were needed, that we should be encouraging more women to
build!
Cheers,
James

Thank you most (very) kindly......
(cheque's in the post )
Seriously, a couple of years ago at the International Historic show at Stoneleigh, we were looking to buy a Lincoln TIG. On the Lincoln stand doing
the demos was a very nice young lady.... and boy, oh boy! could she TIG
She was brilliant! it turned out that she won a national TIG welding competition .........
Personally I find car building and engine rebuilding therapeutic, and more of an 'art' form, and not 'macho' ....... but, that
is only MY opinion of course

At Newark last year, there was a womans Locost in the running for Locost of the year (sorry didn't catch her name). She doesn't come on
here, but it was a very nicely finished off car. I believe she was an engineering student.

I take it you bought a Lincoln - we have one - very nice it is too.
I have heard from various sources, that women make very good welders.

Yes Simon, we did buy a Lincoln....you are right, they are a very nice bit of kit!
Funnily enough, the guys on the stand were saying that in their opinion women make good welders, hence their own 'star' (lady) giving
brilliant demos for their company!
I took to welding like a duck to water, but shamefully, I haven't concentrated on my TIGging skills of late .....
It IS one of my New Year resolutions though! ......
