Futuroscope in Paris (it's a bit like a science museum) has a ride just like that, 8 arms with rollercoaster type seats on doing a syncronised
dance thing

Hmm, worked at a robotics company in my first job. Health and Safety wanted 5ft fences around the arms, a white line wasn't nearly enough, and
fun and games like that would have got you sacked on the spot.
On the other hand it looked like a lot of fun
