Digital camera tripod
My son wants to buy one for making animations so he only needs a small tripod. Any recommendation's of good makes that swivel in all directions.
ta on his behalf!

when you say small do you mean table top style or floor/standing height?
ps I have a velbon cx-640 which I bought just before the eclipse which is adjustable in all directions including height (a little rack and pinion
winder to go up and down) and has a spirit level in it. It's floor standing but the legs are adjustable with quick release telescopic clips.
When I bought it I *think it was around £20-30.

There are some good deals to be found on ebuyer. I can't vouch for it personally but this one looks pretty good.
Clicky. Only problem is it's out of stock but you might find something else suitable on
there.

Don't think theres much too chose from any of the brands. Best bet is to do some filtering on Fleabay by switching to auctions only first then
filter for distance from your home. Win a decent tripod & pick it up in person to save postage cost.

Holy baloney they're cheap!!! Thought they were much more than that! My son will be pleased. He's only 10 so his pocket money has to go
along way!

If he is going to do stop motion animation he will need a big and heavy tripod as you can't afford to have any unwanted movement in the
background. The thread on most camera bases is M10 so you could make a solid base out of left over Locost tube and plate. Good solid tripods are in
the £70 to £500 range and the important thing is that they are portable and quick to set up if you are doing set ups then movement isn't
important studio camera stands are huge and weigh a ton!

The one which comes with the Laser level from Woolworths has a standard camera thread on it, just checked it on my Sony.

£7 if you do a store collect and save the shipping fee.
Bargain and you get a free laser level too
Don't expect a fantastic quality though.

Pretty sure it's an imperial thread, 1/4 or 3/8" depending on the camera. I do know that an ooooooooooooold plate camrea fits on the same
head as a Nikon D2h, and they didn't have this new-fangled metric thing when the plate camera was made...
