Great to see the start of the season but just how fast was the ducati down the straight!

Just too damned fast.. If even Rossi realises he's beaten!
He realised he couldn't break enough of a lead in 1 lap of the infield that Stoner couldn't catch in a drag to the finish line.
So rather sensibly settled for second.. like it was said "you can't win a championship in the first race.. only loose one"

I wonder if it was partly due to Yamaha picking the wrong gearing though, as the Honda was also significantly quicker than Rossi albeit not quite as
impressive as the Duke, it was only Rossi's amazing outbraking manouvres into turn 1 that kept him ahead of Pedrosa in the early laps.

Nah, it's because Pedrosa is a dwarf!
I doubt that the Yamaha gearing would be out - it'll just be pure horsepower and aerodynamics! The were apparently going into a strong headwind
down the straight....
It was a superb race though and a great start to the season!
Spin 'er off Well...
