Hmm... that Jaguar S-Type diesel had 220 Hp with a weight of 1735 kg, which gives a power to weight ratio of 126.8 Hp per ton.
The Ford Transit van that was supposed to beat the 10-minute had 138 Hp with a weight of 3490kg.. so that gives 39.5 Hp per ton..
My old Fiat Panda had a 45 Hp engine, with an empty weight of 702kg, for a power to weight ratio of 64 Hp per ton...
Hmm.. I wish I could actually drive as well as either Jeremy or Sabine! A bone-stock 20 year-old Fiat (rust spots and all) lapping the Ring in 10
minutes... now THAT would be good for some bragging rights..

Oh, come on!!! Anyone can drive better than JC!
Wonder if I could take the racing line round the Karousel
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

Would be curious... has anyone been on the Nordschleife with a Locost or a seven type car? What sort of lap times could we expect?
Or is there anyone planning to do it?

Didn't the Westfield XTR2 have the lap record for a bit?
Donkervoort have done it several times IIRC.
Cheers,
James

Why dont you try it? I beleive they do trackdays.
akumabito - I think the transit weighed less than that, they stripped the seats up and made it more aerodynamic.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Mine's done a few laps of the 'ring. I didn't time any though. I would say on the whole a seven isn't a great ring car as
there are some really long, high speed sections where the aerodynamics hold you back considerably. Off there again in four weeks' time for the
BH weekend
