What do people look for in a digital dash?
I`ve been putting together a digital dash for the past six months. Got someone to convert my circuit diagram into a circuit boards, only for this
person to make huge mistakes, like putting the displays upside down! He even wanted me to pay him more to correct his own mistakes.
So back to square one!
Just wondering what people look for in a digi dash? I would think wideband lambda, although I have yet to see one with wideband.
Thanks
Darren

A 'right side up' display would be a good start
Basic requirements (for me anyway) would be:
Speed (mph/kph selectable)
Revcounter
Fuel level (with flashing 'low' light)
Oil pressure / temp
Coolant temp
Indicators / hazard lights
Shift lights
Brake test / low fluid warning light
I think that would do me but a more advanced version might feature things like boost pressure, EGT or wide band lambda

Thanks for the reply.
I`ve got 12 warning lights:
Fuel, ABS or pad worn, Left, Right, Fuel, Overtemp or master alarm, Oil, Brake, Handbrake, Main beam, Fog, Batt warning.
Is it best to have all the lights on the right side or 6 both on the left and right?
For the shift light I have a 32 led bargraph, that changes from blue to pink to red at the shift point.

Yeah I think 6 each side is better as the indicators are easier to determine.

I would suggest putting all the 'critical' warnings (oil, coolant, abs, low fluid etc) on one side .... so that you know when to REALLY
panic
