was chatting to a m8 today who joined one last year, his other m8s take the pi55 out of him for joining it ,but so far this year he's had more bed time fun than ever.he just says you have to take the rough with the smooth,,a lot of women he's met have used photos of them selves of when there were in there prime or just off there holidays and look nothing like they do in real life,it might not be the ideal place to find a life long partner but you could have some fun looking for one.
stay off the xbox dude and get your self clubbing woohoo

My son has used it three times in the past - and got three bunny boilers who caused him all sorts of trouble.
Luck of the draw I suppose ....

Friend of mine met her current fella online and they are very happy together and are now talking about marriage and kids..

Been pondering whether it's worth a punt myself (online dating, not marriage/kids!) but I have this kind of 'you must be desperate' prejudice and would rather do things 'the old fashioned way' but just don't get (or don't make myself) the opportunities to meet anyone outside work (well ok, so there are over 2000 people iin the office, some of whom you definately would ).

Ned.

I met my partner with Match.com.

I think it depends how old you are. We were both around 50.

I know of two friends who have done this.

One has dated quite a few girls but nothing long term and a couple of psychos! He isn't exactly model material though!

Second friend was a little more cautious. He went to a decent dating company i.e. higher fee. Took his time and got to know a potential date before meeting. You could say he's landed on his feet as he's about to marry one of the first women he met. Who just happens to own a successful IT consultancy business which my friend is actively invovled in running, being a project manager himself.

My wifes friend does the online dating. She's the stalker from hell

Too afraid to set her up with single friends / colleagues. A sniff of interest and she'll hunt you down. I think once she's got your scent you're fuct

met my current wife that way. used direct dating. com

you have to email and ask lots of questions first to weed out the bunny boilers.

before i met my wife i met a few other ladies and had some of the best sack time ever

there were lads at work who saw how much fun i was having and so started using the web themselves.

now i'm very very happy and i'm glad the internet is alive.

Mate of mine has just married the first girl he met after signing up with an internet dating service (can't remember which one). Cracking girl, own house, car and top whack career in personnel, tall (my mate is a short ass as well) pretty and happy to swill beer with the boys too

If I wasn't married I'd be signing up for sure.

cheers for that i have paid for dating direct,

Still unsure if i should go emailing everyone or just wink at them first.
10 people have viewed my profile.

I do not go out a lot and so i am not confident about talking to women.

Be interested to hear how you get on. I have plenty of confidence, it's picking the topic of conversation that I recon's the tricky bit, you don't want to talk too much about yourself, don't want to be asking loads of questions of the other person. Talk about the weather I guess lol.

I met my other half through the local paper columns (in the days before t'internet) - much more likely to find a local lass so you don't have to commute to the Ukraine every weekend

Ned, if you try internet dating it might be an idea to get some sun mate - that yellow skin could be a bit of a turn-off

I too met my wife that way. Been together for about 3 years, and married for about 4 months.

You just need to be sensible about it.

I did it for a couple of years after I left uni, was a good laugh although you do as others have said, have to sift out the weirdos with copious emails / IM chat etc, and you do tend to have to take an approach a bit like searching for a new job, apply for everything you see then take the pick from anything that comes back and don't take knockbacks personally

I ended up meeting my missus through it who Ive now been with for 4 years, so certainly worked for me.

You could also try the non-pay sites such as face party, its not just for dating but there is a big section on there for meeting the girlies.
i have a mate who goes on that one and myspace and gets more than enough attension.
good luck though mate.

I met my missus through match.com
I moved away from my home town for a decent job at 20 and didnt really have many friends t ogo out with and meet new people, didnt help being quite shy and generally inexperienced, so thought what the hell and gave it a go.
Now we have a 3 1/2 year old son

In my experience their were 3 types of women, the ones that were looking for "Mr Perfect" but the man they were looking for simply dosnt exist, these tended to be quite unstable women i found!.
The ones that are up for one night stands and pretty much anything goes! one lass i went with insisted on a bit of fellatio in the car park at the reebok staduim in bolton as she liked the danger! got back to my flat and she pulled out a bottle of baby oil from her overnight bag! ah the memories!
Then their are the genuine ones who are like my missus at least i dont think she got up to anything like the other lass!

One of my friends met his wife this way, though he denied it for ages (she blabbed).

I have to say he did quite well for himself as she is quite fit and is a manager of a firm. He on the other hand is a short ass who looks a dead ringer for Heinrich Himmler, has a dodgy collection of guns and to top it off came to work dressed, I kid you not, as a Nazi tank commander!!!! He is off his feckin head!

So I think it is safe to say she did not do quite as well.,.

it works

i got bored with the club scene etc, so i tried dating direct, as a mate had. got a couple of nice ones then took a break as 3 in a row were bunny boilers!!!

then tried match.com. mmet 4 or 5 nice ones , then a woman i used to know. thet lasted 6 months and she was nuts lol..

then, after a few others, I have met my current one, shes great, we are living together, puppy together etc etc....

so, if you keep at it, do the rough and the smooth, eventually a nice one will come along.......

well, did for me. a few mates are trying it, male and female, and all meeting some nice people.
So, give it a go. really, nothing to lose but some sleep!!!!!!!

fuckit
