Scm or not???
Anyone know if this is real?
This is not a joke! Its quite a serious Postal Scam, please forward it to as many people as you can and tell any vulnerable people you know, all about
it. Xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal Mail.
The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:
A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that
you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call
the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

Just another stupid "email virus", i.e. it spreads itself around by people sending it to everyone in their contacts list. The scam did
however take place some years ago.

According to http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/numberchecker/DisplayServiceDetails.asp this number was removed in dec 05 as it was a scam.
You can use this free service to check most premium numbers

I got a note from Haringey Borough about this. Royal Mail confirm this operation was shut down about 2 years ago and they wish people would stop
calling them about it
(particularly since it was a telephone scam, not a postal)
