Written by a local Edinburgh company: ROCKSTAR NORTH
They started life in Dundee as DMA
DMA Design
Scotland-based software developer, most famous for the Lemmings series and its obsession with sheep. DMA later developed such classics as Body Harvest
and Silicon Valley and the PC/Dreamcast shooter Wild Metal Country. Then it brought out the most popular game in 2001 and 2002, Grand Theft Auto III,
and the rest is history.
DMA was acquired by Rockstar Games in September 1999 and subsequently changed its name to Rockstar North.

I've played it a bit and it is very good. Graphics and physics are a big jump on San Andreas, however the game world has shrunk, and there are
fewer features than SA, less vehicles, weapons, no muscle/fat/gym apsects to the game (no BMX bike that I've seen!!) and I haven seen any skills
get increased.
That said it does look amazing, and is great fun to play. The detail is pretty impressive.

Had a quick half hour on it last night and I agree San Andreas was better. I think that GTA4 feels a bit too blocky and complicated and needs a bit
more of an 'arcade' feel. It feels a bit slower to me. The graphics are better but seeing it now I think I preferred them before. Oh and
that leaning thing he does when turning, thats really bugging me. Bit too much hype I think.
