AND I'VE FINALLY GOT IT RUNNING!!!!!!

WELL WELL WELL, im sure that most of you are aware of the problems i've been having but today i cracked it! after a brief phone call with graeme, i found out what was wrong and why my car wouldn't start!

it wasn't the vr sensor wiring, it wasn't the edis and it wasn't the coil pack, the fact that i had wired it up to the accessory 12v supply on ignition barrel that goes dead when cranking might have been the key! swopped it to the perminent 12v ignition supply (the one that doesn't drop to zero volts) and the car started straight away!

the complimentory video of course

start up video

just got to get the throttle cable sorted and im going out for a data logging session!

You should have seen the little dance i did after it started, unfortunately its not in the video!

Well done that man - onwards!

Had a very similar problem when I built my JC Midge many years ago. Drove me absolutely nuts until I discovered the problem but WHAT SWEET MUSIC when it goes right and starts up.

Good to hear it is now sorted , we wired the ignition direct to the battery the other week which is why it ran that time then.
Does it still run on after turning the ignition off or is that ok now as well?.
Paul.
