Im none the wiser for looking them up.
FTL - is it - 'For The Loss', 'For The Love', or 'Flips The Laptop'?? Either way i dont understand it TBH.
XD - laughing face, another way of putting LOL (which i used to think was lots of love!!)

I found that in his urban dictionary link, but didn't get the context. Why laugh when someone asks a question? It doesn't make sense,

I think you will find that the people who are very conversant with texting and online gaming etc have a good handle on this alternative e-language. I
prefer to use what i was taught at school (my choice) so i really struggle with text speak. Its not that im an old codger, only 30 odd, its just that
i never got into computers etc.
Benzine is a good egg really, but it wouldnt harm, for the purposes of effective communication, for a little understanding and explanation for those
who just dont know.
