I have used it mainly for CDs and books.

Got fed up getting outbid on CDs on ebay so for similar costs, got them from Amazon.

A few of the books I got were from USA and no silly postage charges like you get on ebay plus a much much bigger selection.

I use amazon a lot, I probably use the traders more than amazon itself, probably 60% of the time, not had a problem with non-delivered items etc, usually slightly slower post than amazong but nothing to complain about

Use amazon and traders on amazon a fair bit bought a load of New Captain Scarlet goodies for the youngest grandchild -- all very quick delivery only thing to watch for is postage costs.

Play.com I have used a fair bit also, it used to be only for DVD/CD but recently bought a few computer bits through them delivery took a 8 days as items came from Jersey.

One company I will never deal with online again is Waterstones --- theydon't give feed back o on order progress if the order stalls for some reason.

Ebuyer -- I avoid now as they often substitute items and delivery can be too long.

I asked as we are thinking of selling on there but not sure the items we sell are Amazon type items.

A competitor of ours sells on there and has had 4 sales in as many months.

TBH as much as we call eBay and paypal aside from a few problems they have have been a great tool for us, you would not believe the turnover of our eBay shop, we have actually had the need to source larger premises, pretty good in credit crunch time ?

Selling from a shop as many benefits over the normall seller on there, dedicated phone staff that are actually very helpful and human, ever reducing fee's as our sales grow, all in our eBay shop is doing very well and I guess the more we pay eBay the more we have sold ?

We pay far less in eBay fee's than we would for a shop front somewhere, we are open 24/7 with next to no overheads and sales 100 fold what they would be from a shop front.

Amazon, give it a miss for a while we think, thanks for the input.

Yep I had guessed that you were researching other probable places, hence, when I needed to order a book, I ordered something else, just so I could give you a current honest 'experience' .... It wasn't until David (Jenkins) posted the name of the 'Jersey' store, and said it was Amazon too, that I realised I wasn't buying from an 'outlet' at all.... .....ah well!

So, what you are saying is having an actual 'shop' within ebay, is better/less grief than the 'auction' bit? That is good news!

I must say that if I do go on ebay these days, I tend to go for the 'shops' rather than the auctions........

Long may your business grow!
