"Nowhere near" in what respect? The Galaxy Tab is superior in almost every respect.

In that it doesn't have a picture of an Apple on it, therefore by those who buy, less superior!

tablets. Are apples a bit better? Perhaps, but that is all. I can't see that he was a visionary that many people are playing him out to be in
the media. Yes Apple products are popular, yes he ran the company, but the hype in my eyes is over the top.

I'm struggling to see why this has turned into a slanging match. The bloke has died and thats not a good thing no matter what the politics are.

To accuse him of "possibly [killing] someone unknown" is the most ridiculous accusation I have ever heard!
Let's keep this respectful guys.
You're speechless, I'm angry. My Dad died of cancer 6 weeks ago; he didn't have the benefit of having one that could be cured. If
he had have done, he would have had a straightforward operation and be done with it. SJ on the other hand rejected the considered expert advice and
thought a change of diet would do the trick. Cancer is not something to dick around with and if you get it wrong, you die. If you get it right it
will probably get you anyway but after a number of years more. The median survival rate for people with the cancer SJ has is 10 years, he could have
had more than that if he had listened to his doctors when it was first diagnosed. My crack about the liver may have been below the belt, but organs
for transplant are a very limited resource. If he had had the earlier surgery, he wouldn't have needed a new liver and someone else could have
had it.
It sucks that he (or anyone else) is dead, and we all die one day. However he appears to have played a part in the timing of it but going off on a
tangent in an area where that is a really bad idea. His death is no more or less important than anyone elses.

I'm very sorry for your loss of course but I think you are making a lot of assumptions about Steve's medical history and decisions. The
truth may come out in his biography due next month but as far as I know, he was only diagnosed with cancer after changing his diet failed to relieve
the symptoms he had at that time. Initially he was told he had 3-6 months to live and then later that day after a biopsy was done, they discovered it
was a very rare form of cancer which was treatable. This was in 2004. The fact that he lived for 7 years afterwards suggests that they did in fact
cure him of the initial cancer. He appears to have suffered some other disease or a reoccurrence more recently which has ultimately caused his
death.
All I'm saying is that you don't know the full facts (and neither do I) so to make accusations of him killing himself and possibly someone
else is a bit strong.
Anyway, I apologise if creating this RIP thread for Steve Jobs has in any way added to your own feelings of loss or anger. That was certainly not my
intention and I wish you well.

Agree with all this.
He was the master of coming up with cool stuff that people "wanted" and rarely ever anything that you "needed". More a
techno-business genius that anything else, but a sad loss all the same.
