It makes me a kid - I was 13 or 14 at the time he drove home after him and my stepfather downed a litre of whisky between them!!

doesnt say much for you if you see a guy drinking half a bottle of whiskey and you let him drive with kids in the car you could at least have taken
the kids out if the police are all nazis what does that make you??
Oh - seen my auntie's ex down half a bottle of whisky and then drive home with 3 kids in the car. He also had 130mph showing on the clock in my
old Renault 5 GT turbo - he's a serving traffic cop too.

your statment makes it look like both incidents happened around the same time so it looked like you would have been a bit older at the time. so i
agree there wouldnt have been much a 13/14 year old could have done and i appologise for making a dig at you.
but as for your personal attack on all police officers i think it may be a bit out of order to call them bl***y nazi's and all the other stuff
you said is a bit low

Dont worry about it Dave - without knowing all the facts I can understand you having a dig and i didnt make it clear. I was about 13 or 14 when he
downed half a bottle of whisky which was the worst I saw but him drinking at the house and then driving home was a regular thing. My cousin told me
that they'd been stopped a couple of times and he would just put his warrant card to the still closed window and be allowed to drive on!! The
speeding in my car which i'd just picked up that day was when I was 18.
A year ago I would have said nothing but good things about the police after helping them in two RTAs and also my ex being involved in a near fatal RTA
herself. I also did an awful lot of work in conjunction with them in a high profile murder case on the forensics side and again had nothing but good
to say from it all. I got as far as applying to join the police myself a few years ago but my eyesight let me down on the medical. One very bad
experience with a traffic cop which is still ongoing has left me with a very bad taste. I would never have believed a police officer would fabricate a
statement and blatantly lie in court before this year!! Even a police officer friend of mine has said the statement is an absolute disgace and makes
very little sense!!
I'm sure all police officers arent like this though and yes i'll admit its not fair to label them all in this way - feeling very very bad
about this one particular officer though at the moment. I've been offered a job at my mate's company as a HGV driver but as a new driver -
6 points on my licence would make it too expensive to insure me so potentially i stand to lose out hugely.

Sorry to hear about your plight but why not try & turn into a little earner.
We had a similar thing happen to us a while ago where the insurance wanted to write the car off for something that wasn't too hard to fix
myself. So I let them write it off and pay me out £800 BUT I cut adeal so I could keep the car as salvage. Then I went to a scrappy and got the bits
to fix it for £50. another £15 for paint and it was just like new ( well just like old actually ) Hey Presto £700 odd pounds better off.
RD
they key to why they like to write cars off is that then they can end the policy, and you have to cough up for insurance again!Swings it a little back
in their favour.
Comiserations mike.
