Why learn any martial art then?
What about archery, fencing, the javelin, hammer?
All weapons that are now sports?
Sword fighting is a fantastic athletic sport. Everyone i know who does it really enjoys it. I just don't have the time to dedicate one night a
week to playing with a wooden / very blunt metal / blunt metal weapon. Just like i still haven't found the time to take up Kali Escrema

Same question about why make your own car? you can just buy one and its likely to be safer to the pedestrian you're statistically more likely to
hit than go on a killing spree.
