Just 'cos he offered didn't mean he was actually going to pay, he'd already broken one agreement, why should heworry about breaking another/

Nice point Mr henderson!

Just been on the phone to ebay and they will not relist my car, even though the car should have been listed for 28 days.
My recommendation is to avoid classified ads as you have no protection and you will lose your money and your ad removed, even if the buyer does not pay.
Lesson learned.

I also put in my ad that I will not accept paypal for payment, but they said that I was in breach of ebay rules and cannot refuse paypal payments.
No wonder they make so much money. They get fees from both ebay and paypal.

Just relisted on pistonheads here

A rather expensive lesson but if you are using ebay again, then my advice is don't accept offer thus closing the auction until you have the money in your pocket.

From what I can work out, the buyer did not view therefore I find it hard to belive that someone is serious about paying sereral thousand pounds for something they have not seen.

That pees me off; I put "payment by cash or cheque" and my ad was pulled Apparently that is against the wrong, what I should have put was "cash on collection". I too do not accept paypal.

02GF74, you can't NOT accept the offer, otherwise you can't find out the identity of the buyer. Ebay have this sewn up!

One thing I was told (about not accepting paypal) was completely wrong.
If you read ebay's policy, items exempt from paypal are cars and property. So the person on the phone was an idiot.
