i've got a dremel pro, one of the first ones with the digital speed readout. it's been fantastic the bearings are just starting to get
noisey now must be 5 years old, and it's been used for rc car racing, every bit of fiberglass on my mnr, cutting out laminate floor that had a
wall on top of it (don't ask) and god know what else when my brothere's borrowed it, but the roof came off his volvo 440!
also got a maplins one, looks more cheap and nasty than the one from the link and it is, no vairiable speed, no grunt what so ever, and play in the
shaft from new, i'll be getting another dremmel if i can't replace the bearings when they do finaly die

Ive got a dremal digital and had a clark cutting tool- both same size motor and same physical size, clark was £29.99 and lasted 3 weeks the bearings
went and the thing burnt out cutting plastic and ive still got the dremal and use it for every thing at work it just seems like it has more torque but
cost £79.99
lidl do one for £19.99 if its just for fibre glass cutting.

I bought a dremel and, if I was to have the choice again, wouldn't bother with anything more than the cheapo versions.
I haven't really used mine for much in my build - that said, there's a whole load of stuff that I would want to do differently if/when I
build another car (but it'll more than liekly be a Caterham anyway)

I got a cheapo and did burn it out in no time. Got a Dremel and lasted everything the cheapo failed to do plus a few hours grinding my cylinder head
and still going strong. Get the original worth the extra.

A fair few on here recomend the Black and decker version (if you do a search) as a fair middle ground, there usually £30-£40 and come with a good
number of accessories and a 2-3 year Guarentee.
Before we got ours we killed loads of £10-£20 special offer types.

I reccomend the Black and Decker one - RT650 is the model number and you can find them on ebay for about £25 new.
Link
Add a Dremel Quick Change Multi Chuck for aroung £6 and you can handle tools in the 0.8mm to 3.2mm range.
Linky
The main problem I have had with the cheaper ones is finding replacement collets when they wear out and have 2 cheapo rotary tools sat in the cupboard
which are no longer useable.

Bizarely, I've had the same B+Q one for the last five years and despite serious amounts of abuse it's going strong.
Before that I had a cheapo one which worked off 12v and came with a transformer. That was rubbish and burnt out in about a week...

I recommend the Black and Decker wizzard. Mine is quite an old one, blue plastic body, but it is still working even after much use.
I have used it to the point where it became too hot to hold and despite one broken cluch spring, replaced, refuses to die.
Ofcourse having said that, next time I switch it on it will explode!
