EVIL Paypal
Paypal
The B$£"*&%s have suspended my paypal account . I sold a mobile phone £75.00 advertised it as uk buyers only. But a muppet from india bought
it the money went in my account inc £17.00 international signed for payment. I emailed the buyer many times to confirm if he had recieved the phone I
never heard another word from him. Then last sunday I won an auction for locost pedals from Echidna in Greece. When I came to pay for them I find a
chargeback has been filed against me. This is presumably because mr smart arse in China ( the guy who has filed the claim) states it was unauthorised
use if his card, !!!!! what they are missing here is that it is nothing to do with me !! my deal was with Mr India ( even though he is a crook) I
thought all was well. Paypal and ebay are ignoring my e mails n can t pay Echidna.
I am ready to tear someones head off at the moment. I no longer have the postage cert as this was back in july.
Does anyone know where mr paypal live he needs a bloody good kicking. Any ideas of help would be appreciated.
Kev

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I had a similar thing with a ps2 game i sold to america when i put uk only.
I think the lesson here is just to refuse sales to other countries unless you have listed those countries in the auction as countries you wil post to.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

If someone wins the auction who isnt a UK buyer, then just refund the payment and relist the item

if it make you feel any better... you've got off lightly.
I recieved a Genuine Email from PayPal on saturday:
Dear Ian Heeley (like genuine ones do)
You: Sam_Smith have pay'd Debora_Jones £440 (or words to that effect like neither of which people are me or my usernames)
For a Nokia Mobile fone (Who the hell would pay that much for 1!)
So They'd already emailed me it was a dodgy transaction so I rang them up to clarify it wasn't me and what would happen. " it all be
in holding at the moment" .... but your not going to take the money from my bank account for what looks like a clerical error?
So guess what... they've taken the £440 out of my account, rang up on my mobile cos I couldn't get to a land line was on the fone for
1/2hr at a cost of £5 and the best I could get out of them was "it could take upto 10 days".. it didn't take you up to 10 days to
take the money out did it
So I gave them some real grief that I was overdrawn and the bank were charging me becaus of their incompetence but it was like talking to a robot! and
didn't manage to hurry anything up, you'd have thought common sence could prevail in such obvious situation and for such a large amount of
money.

Hence the reason why I refuse to tie my bank account to Paypal... If that happened and they took money from my card I would contact my bank and inform
them that is was a fraudulent transaction and that I had not authorised it... That would put a rocket up Paypal...

Hi Kev,
I can fully understand you as i have fallen very recently to a similar trap!
I have sold an item in the USA more than a month ago and a week ago i was informed by PayPal that i received a chargeback because on unauthorized use
of the credit card.
To avoid such problems, one good rule of thumb is to make sure that the address of the buyer saved on eBay is the same with the address of the payer
on PayPal. And you should do this prior accepting the money. Also i have noted to my last transactions that PayPal require you to accept or not
a payment which is a good thing! You must check things out prior accepting any payment!
The weird thing is that i had already checked it and the addresses were the same. I uploaded proof of shipping and emails on eBay from the buyer that
he has received the item and now i am waiting for their reply.
The bad thing with chargebacks is that claims are not reviewd by PayPal but by the bank and the solution may be given even after 70 days or
something...
No problem though with the payment.
I will make your pedals anyway! I will keep you informed. Thanks!

Of no help to you but charge backs via paypal make my pee boil tooooooo.
They took the card payment on your behalf, they allegedly verified the card to the address etc, they definitely charged you for this service then when
their checks, not yours theirs turn out not to have detected fraudulent use of a card they accepted they pass the charge back onto you.
Like I said in another similar post if you/we/I had took a card payment over phone or over counter then our fault, end of, we pay paypal to make these
checks and act on our behalf, when it goes tits up they do a runner.
btw you now don't have to post to a verified address to be covered by paypal but they will for sure find some other reason why you are not
covered.
