LEDs

This really isn't car related, but I'm looking for some LED lights for my mountain bike, I have some hallogen lights atm but the battery life is only about 60-90 mins and was wondering if it is possible to get MR11 bulb replacements in LEDs that give anything like the light I get from 5w and 10w MR11s?

Tell you something, I've just got a £8 led torch from tescos and it is very bright indeed, the led bit is very compact, would be an easy job to stick in a bike headlight unit imo.

Cheers

you can buy handle bar clamps - I got some recently from HK to hold my DIY LED lamps.

about your Tesco torch - does it have multiple LEDs or one emitter? (emitter being the term for high power LEDs).

I too have 2 LED lamps. someting like 5 or 9 white LEDs, whilst they are bright, they are mere ghosts compared to the LED emitter.

bit random but a technician i worked with a few times actually collects torches (bizarre but he has some amazing bits) - http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/

there's users on there who buy in different torches and then mod/hack them to high hell, and post pictures of the results.

Could be worth maybe posting on there as some of the users have a *dazzling* amount of knowledge on the subject of torches/lighting...

I'll get my coat
