Ebay grrrr

I won a car on ebay that was described as a good runner untill the head gasket went. So spares or repair.

No prblems I think.

I went to have a look at lunch and the car is damaged all down one side where it looks like its been through a hedge. Its scralked every panel down the N/s and ripped the mirror clean of.

With no mention of this in the auction I would say its a fair reason not to complete, spares or repair or not.

What do you lot think ?

Either bale or re-negotiate depending on what you are most comfortable with assuming there wasn't any mention (or a photo) of the damage.

I suppose it may have gone through a hedge after it was put on ebay, but unlikely considering the head gasket.

That sucks!!! It doesn't matter if they've said sales or repair.

After all if you bought the car to sell spares from you're down two doors and a front and rear wing!!!! Not good.....

I'd use it as leverage to seriously reduce the price or just say you won't pay and if they report you as non-payer you'll report them for "item not as described".

look like the nside mirror is missing in the photo.

you can back out of the sale as its SNAD significantly not as described. But the seller could put a non paying buyer strike against you, but if you have a photo of the damage to prove it then the strike can be removed.

I would second the comment about a photo of the side of the car being good.
- If its clear in the photos given i would have thought you would have noticed. Although you might not if there poor photos.
- Certainly if even when looking back at the photos you cant see the damage i would be for rengotiating or bailing. Depending if you want the car at all now.

Did you ask him about the scratches?
- Get a photo of the side of it ?
