Motorsport for 16yo's

My freinds and i want to buy an MOT failed car to drag.
We looked on santa pod's website and for their DWYB days, they require a drivers licence. Its ok for me but my two freinds are only 16.
Are there any other places they could drive the car?

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Thanks whippy but what we want to do is get a time for the car standard then modify it and see how much we can improve the time.
I know i could just drive it but they also want to get a time.

You can still hold an MSA licence (I think) without a driving licence. Vauxhall Junior was for 16 years and up (at least it was when I was racing in 1993!)

I always thought that but for £25 you can run as many times as you want. We are going to have a budget of £200 for the car and the mods will only be small things. Stripping the interior (sell it on ebay and use the money to pay for mods), gaffa tape the gaps in the bonnet etc

You’d do better to throw the bonnet/dash/glass and anything not actually making the wheels turn in the skip to improve the times. £200 won’t go very far on drag racing

What car are you thinking of using btw?

For drag racing the best mod has to be nitrous and stripping every ounce of weight out of the thing.
