Yes they can...and simple too. Select tracks then click burn to CD...
AFAIK it's the only way to convert M4A's to MP3s so you play your bought tunes on a normal MP3 player (you have to re-import from the CD)

yep

in itunes File > New Playlist... whack all the tunes you want on cd in the new playlist.... insert blank disc and in the bottom right corner of itunes, it should say "Burn Disc" or something like that....

Think there are other ways of of doing it as well (right clicking on individual tracks and selecting "add to cd" or something?)

Hope this helps

it burns them as cd audio so will play in any normal car cd player/home entertainment system. I don't think there's a way to burn them as 'mp3' i.e. cram loads of them on in mp3 format.

in order to do that with itunes, you'd have to do it the long way round - burn songs from itunes to cd audio, then 'rip' them back off the cd in mp3 format, then burn the freshly ripped mp3's to cd in another program.

Failing that, DO NOT look up some illegal sites and download them for free in straight mp3 format -

Itunes stores the music as M4A or M4P (protected) files.

Both can be converted into MP3 files that can put on a CD-R for a MP3 Cd-player to find. Lots of free software out there that'll do it too!!!
