What new tin-top with £13k?

Hello All -

I'm in an extremely fortunate position (given the financial climate) having been promoted.

The result is that I'm looking to spend up to £13k on a daily driver. I'm not sure another CVH Sierra is suitable. I do about 12k miles a year and my thought process thus far has included:
BMW Alpina B10 V8
Honda S2000
Honda Integra DC5 (in Black with Red Recaros)
Renault Megane F1 R26 230
S1 Elise
Boxster

I have no idea what I want but should be getting something reliable with sensible(ish) running costs so the Alpina/M5/Jag XKR should probably be crossed off. It must be immaculate (no exotics teetering on extinction) and must be quick and have that 'one last glance as you walk away' factor. It also shouldn't be too outrageous - I crossed the Evo VI Tommi Mak off for this reason.

Any ideas?

I like the B10 V8; a friend has one and it's not *too* much to run, although do does go to the expense of sending it to Sytner which makes maintenance costly.

Point of note - his engine went belly up a while ago and needed significant work doing to it. Alpina won't let anyone local do the work - the engine has to be removed and shipped back to Buchloe (sp?). However it has recently come to light that BMW build the v8 X5 engine under license from Alpina...guess which engine it's a copy of...

I'm in the unfortunate scenario that the daily motor has to be <5 yrs old AND <125k miles. Due to this I plumped for the "easy" company car option and now have a 58-plate mondeo on the drive...

Maserati 3200 GT

If I had that sort of money - that's what I'd buy.

Cerberas and Maseratis? Genius.

Stuart's idea below is good - I was looking at leasing a Leon at one stage.

There's an awful lot of girly gay boy cars in that list, S2000, Boxster, S1 Elise and what no MX5 ???

Work at the salon must be good

I nearly bought a 350Z, but the missus put a stop to that, f*cking bitch.

An nice Evo would be in the mix or even a Scooby STi (not in blue).

Would squeeze a Tuscan for that money, but as I was told, if you worry about the costs of an engine rebuild, it's not the car for you. So crossed off the list.

So, possibly this to act a twat in:

FQ340

But I don't think it's you somehow, so it'd be a 350, in blue please

Have you thought of one of these yuppie bad boys. Lord it over the peasants in the car park.

Chelsea Tractor

Load it with boxes of juice through the week and then down Splott market on the weekend. Nice earner

All joking aside, something like it would make a good tower for the MNR. I'd probably look at one of these, but they are SLOW:

XC90

I want a Range Rover but wife isnt keen as i can only sort of afford older model.

13K would buy you quite a nice one. Or even an X5.

I do like your thinking ref the Alpina although id have to side with Chris and look for a 5 series BMW diesel. I love my 3 series but the 5's are so much better.
