what happens if you tell the insurance company and then have an accident with no one else involved.
If i was your insurance company i'd demand to see the video. I'd also want 3 mins worth of recording saved. If you then did anything
illegal before the accident i'd say "sorry, you where breaking the law, insurance invalid". It could be an easy way to get out of
paying .....
of course if you said it wasn't working, then the insurance would be invalid due to you telling them you run it.
Seems like a good idea for when you are the innocent party & to only use it when needed / when it works to your advantage. Therefore don't
tell them.

if you know you dont drive illegally, and you do get a reduction on the insurance (which seems likely as you are less likely to drive badly), then its
win win.
I had an accident a few years back that wasnt my fault but because i couldnt prove it, it cost me about £600 and all my NCD from that policy. That
would pay for it in one.
Plus what if it actually made you drive more responsibly and saved your life?!

I was looking at this a few days ago. Just fits on the windscreen and records. Probably
good enough as proof if you're in an accident, and small enough to hide in your pocket if it's your fault [1]
Oh yeah, it's a bit cheaper to go along with the rather limited functionality

I had an accident in 2005 when some arse went through a red.....I lost because I couldn't prove it. I had to go to the county court because the
insurance companies couldn't agree. I lost £230 in wages just for that alone.
Since then I have had a colour bullet cam plus a small sd recorder (will be up for sale as soon as the new one is fitted, so offers anyone...).
Driving in London virtually everyday, I get cut up regularly, sometimes really close to having another accident.
What I like about this is that it records your gps position, speed and G-forces.
Undisputable in a court.
I don't drive like a loon so I don't have any problems with my behaviour.
I had a bus driver cause me some grief and hurl abuse, which I got on cam (there is a lot more to this) and I passed the video to the bus company.
After examining their own video on the bus, he was made to retake his PSV test again and it is also amazing how many people don't want to
argue/fight you when you point to the camera.

Don't count on it. Evidence handling is a difficult enough process as it is, digital media makes it 10 times worse. It would be an absolute
nightmare to prove that you can't/haven't tampered with it if another party decided to dispute it as evidence.
There's a good reason the police still use a notebook and pen...

Well the bus driver sticking his fingers up was on video. How could he deny doing that? Otherwise it would have been my word against his

Sounds like they didn't question it's authenticity. If they had chosen to you would have found yourself fighting an uphill battle.
People regularly get off far worse crimes than traffic incidents because of technicalities to do with how evidence is handled and presented by the
police, how well do you think your methods and procedures will stand up if pressed? Digital media was until recently not even admissible in court.
I'm not saying it's useless, far from it, 9 times out of 10 it will be accepted at face value by the other party, but undisputable it
certainly isn't.

If its your word against someone elses then you cant prove anything. At least with a video you have a chance. Also remember that when chasing someone
for damages you need a different standard of proof as its a civil case (balance of probability rather than beyond reasonable doubt), im sure this
would affect what evidence is admissible. If two parties come before a judge with a dispute then the judge will see the evidence and decide if it has
any merit. Inadmissability is less likely to be an issue.

I've just run the demo from their website and it is pretty cool.
I downloaded the lambo files which show the road ahead, the driver actions, speed, G-forces and if you open the map icon, a google map of the car
going around the circuit!
Looks like more uses than insurance claims!

Just an update.
I can't rate this highly enough.
The front and rear video is clear and the G-force and speed readouts excellent.
Now I have got to grips with it, I realise that it records continuously so if you used it in a race car you could record your progress and follow it
on google maps at the same time.
