Does ebay attract only the doofus?

Selling my bike, had this one guy messenging me quite a bit - obviously after buying it before the auction ends.

I said he'd need to make a decent offer, as it already has one bid, with 5 days to go with a no reserve start price of £250.

So the guy comes back and says, "well assuming its a runner I'll offer £250 if you end it now..."

what a thicko.

I mean seriously, the guy must need assistance opening crisp packets

I was half tempted to tell him I was insulted, and the very least I;d accept is £249, just to see if he clocked on to the irony.

lets have a thread of the dumbest things you've been asked on ebay!

"Does it have a buy it now" I get that every single auction, when clearly by looking at the auction there is not...

I know what they're getting at but very frustrating nonetheless!!

Crikey... every bloomin auction I list attracts stupid questions.

The ones that bug me most are the ones asking a Q, when the answer is already written on the ad...

sign o the times guys. Exam results are increasing because guess what? They are getting easier, which in turn means that the standard of education is dropping and that means were developing into a country of thickies, (or should that read developed?).

Last thing I sold I got totally cheesed off with people emailing dumb questions and stupid low offers I just sent a polite reply with my phone number and asked them to call me. It rapidly filtered (most of) the time wasters out.

The thing which narks me most is the sellers who post 10 pages of terms and conditions and tell you sod all about what they are selling, guess they're responding to the doofus in advance.....

I think eBay's great on the whole. ok you have to put up with a bit of bother from idiots but its generally pretty good.
A lot depends on what you are buying/selling.
Cars,Bikes and mobile phones do tend to attract the majority of plonkers.
