Slightly OT : Irregular Registration

I posted on this subject a while ago and got some helpful advice but nothing that answered the specifics, so here goes again.

I'm trying to advise someone who has a Cobra registered as the donor - a Jag - naughty boy! He's trying to make it legal by going through SVA etc.

I'be been through the hoop once with my Locost, so I know a bit about how it works, so he thinks that qualifies me as an expert!

The kit was built about 2 years ago and has been registered and MoT'd as a Jag with the original reg number, so it can't qualify for the DVLA's amnesty

I can't see any legitimate way out of this short of declaring the thing as a new build, and going through all of the usual hoops to get a new registration whether age-related or Q plate.

Does anyone have any other opinion?

Jeff

I reckon you're spot on.

My car was an amnesty car - more or less - and is now correctly registered, all on the basis that the history was traceable by the DVLA.
Your man's Cobra does not have the luxury of that history, so it's SVA time IMHO.
