Seating foam?

Anyone know anywhere decent to buy some seating foam? I need two blocks 500*120*360 of foam suitable for sporty seats...

I found a couple of places on the web that wanted £8 a piece for the foam... plus £10 postage....... £10 for foam... Comical!!!¬

Upholstery foam is horribly expensive...

What you were quoted is cheap!

It's the cost of the postage that pees you off, if it was £15 and £3 postage it would seem ok, or it would to me.

Must try harder

Just a thought - the thrift superstore near me (called What!) had latex foam pillows £5 for two, i think they had foam matress tops going cheap too, bout 2 inches thick. If you just need a thin layer of foam over grp seats, might this do? Or is this the wrong type of foam altogether?

Failing that, go to tip, find dumped sofa, steal cushions, cut up foam.

Check yellow pages to see if there's a furniture upholsterer in your town. They'll always be happy to sell odds and ends if they can make a few bob. They'll also sell fire-retardant foam, which is always nice in a car...

My local upholsters used to sell square sections about 45cm square for a quid

But if you buy it new it is expensive- the quote you got sounds quite good!!
